I loved you description of the pub in Lacock - "warm and cozy, with good portions of pub grub delivered by a barmaid with an impressive, er, selection of condiments". That is an expression that deserves repeating. I think what I shall do is relay your tavel tales onto the V8 Website as I am sure many an old fart will have had, may still have, a secret desire to wander off like you!
